Preheat oven to 375°, line your cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
(Mix the above together in a small bowl and set aside) Then in a larger bowl…..
2 sticks room temp softened butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
Use an electric mixer on those 3 items until well blended, then add
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Mix again until well blended. Slowly add the dry ingredients that you set aside earlier. Once everything is well mixed, stir in (manually-do not use the mixer for this step) the
1 bag of chocolate chips (my go to is semi sweet, but use your preference. I also buy store brand cause I’m frugal)
Scoop out onto sheet, use a teaspoon from your utensil drawer (smaller of the 2 spoons). Your scoops should be smaller than golf balls. Just plop on to cookie sheet. No need to shape them into perfect balls.
Now here is the key…PAY ATTENTION! Cooking time is around 8-9 minutes depending on your oven. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE ALREADY AN ALL OVER GOLDEN BROWN TO TAKE THEM OUT. Usually around 8 min the edges are golden brown and the middle has just barely started turning golden brown. TAKE THEM OUT. Leave them on the pan for another 1-2 minutes depending on how much browner they start to get (they are cooking on the pan still).
And there you have it! My “secret” recipe! Enjoy 😋
